Vulnerable Living with Laura Taylor

Trish Wright & Dawn Light with Laura Taylor Season 4 Episode 27

Vulnerable Living is a way to heal, grow, and live in a deeply self-connected, self-loving, and fully self- resourced way.

I have a Masters in Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco and am a California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
I have also been blessed, for over 26 years, to have a dynamic and rewarding private practice. While my credentials have allowed me access to many beautiful clients, it is the things I have learned from working with people who entrust me to guide them on a healing journey back to themselves, along with a dedication to my own ongoing growth and healing, that have taught me the most valuable and usable lessons. I have learned from decades of supporting those who have endured various forms of trauma while working to stay at least a few steps ahead of my clients on my own healing journey in order to take them further and deeper.

My main focuses have intertwined from an initial focus on all kinds of trauma, couple and family dynamics, Family Constellation work (dealing with epigenetics in the family system), and recovery from Narcissistic abuse.
When my own life fell apart, that was when my Vulnerable Living tools started to evolve.  Just six weeks after my mother (who was my best friend and offered me great amounts of emotional and practical support) was diagnosed with cancer, she died peacefully in my home, with myself and my eldest daughter by her side. Then, 18 months later, the marriage that was held together with toxic tape and frayed string completely unraveled. I was literally discarded after 25 years; only then could I identify that I had been married to a narcissist. My healing process of identifying what led me to attempt to bond with such an unavailable man, learning never-before-known ways of self-connection and inner resourcing, and dedicating myself to tending to my heart, mind, and body first and foremost are what led me to discover the path of Vulnerable  Living.

Fast forward to my current life...
My private practice is both full and satisfying. I am at the place where I get to pick whom I will work with. Consistent dedication to one’s healing and a willingness to follow the "homework" I assign in between our sessions are necessary ingredients.
I have an amazing partner of almost 5 years. whom I love and adore and who treats me with love, support, regard, and respect in ways I never knew were possible before I addressed my own inner breaks. We live on an acre where we foster growth, peace, and lovely garden spaces. We are both dedicated to our own growth and healing and have no interest in co-behaving with one another. I also have wonderful relationships with my three adult daughters and their partners,  and I spend a lot of my free time with them and my three grandchildren.

The life I live now, I could never have imagined preciously... and I am blessed to help others do the same.

WARNING: Fasten your seat belts; practicing even a little bit of my tools can be life-changing beyond your imagination!
